Adding a Poker Journal

Creating your poker journal is easy. From your profile, click on the "Read My Journal" link on the right hand side, as illustrated below.

From there, you'll see current entries into your journal (if you have any already) and an entry form below. Please Note: The numbers are for the section below to illustrate how a poker journal is entered. They will not appear on your actual Journal Entry form.

Entering Your Data

There are 11 key points to your poker journal, corresponding with the illustration above. The actual journal has a built-in help feature that can be viewed by mousing over the text box that you are about to change. In the example above, the mouse is hovering over the field for the second bet structure. In a $.50/$1.00 poker game you would enter $.50 in the first box and, as the help window indicates, $1.00 in the second box.

These poker journal text areas and drop-down menus should be entered as follow:

1. Game Date: The date the actual game took place.
2. Start Time: The starting time of your poker game.
3. End Time: The ending time of your poker game.
4. Buy In: What was the buy in for the table, or what did you sit down with?
5. Bet Structure: For a tournament or sit & go, leave these as 0. For a cash game, put in the bet structure for a Limit game or, for a NL or PL game, put in the minimum blinds/bets.
6. # of Players : Number of people playing .
7. Journal Entry Title : What do you want to call this journal entry?
8. Journal Entry : Up to 3,000 characters of description, notes and game play take-aways .
9. Amount Won/Lost : Enter wins as a dollar amount without the dollar sign (i.e.: $210.00 would be entered 210.00 or 210). Losses should be shown with a negative sign (-210.00 for a $210 loss).
10. Game Definition: Use the drop down menus to describe the game you played. For a Limit Texas Holdem Cash Game, you would set the Game to Texas Hold-Em, Game Type to Cash Game and Bet Style to Limit.
11. Poker Room: Use this drop down to select the poker room you played at, or choose 'Real World' for a real-world game .
12. Publish As: Choose Private to hide this entry from anyone but yourself, Friends to allow only people on your friends list, or Public to allow anyone to read this entry.

When you have entered all the fields above, click on "Submit Journal". Your journal entry will be saved and your information will be available to view in your poker journal entries within 5 minutes.
